Stock Picking and Backtesting Software

By popular demand, I've put together these Quick Vid's (short instructional video's [-- no sound]) to help people get the most out of their software.

(I will continue to add more helpful videos regularly.)

These two are focused on the Zacks Rank.

First and foremost, the Zacks Research Wizard has probably more tools for helping to select, manage, research and backtest your stocks, than any other program available.

That being said, one of the biggest benefits, is having access to Zacks' proprietary Stock Ranking System.

You can't get this with any other system!

Why is this such a big deal? Because the Zacks Rank is one of the most successful and reliable (if not THE most successful and reliable), stock ranking system out there. In fact, over the years, the Zacks Rank has gained considerable notoriety as it has even substantially outperformed other famed ranking systems such as the Value Line Timeliness Rank.

The Zacks # 1 Ranked stocks, over the last 21 years, has shown an average annual return of over 35.5%. That's more than twice the average annual return for the S&P500.

And while the S&P500 was down more than -9% last year (2000), Zacks # 1's were up 16.2%. And we're up roughly 13% YTD, while the S&P is down -13%.

This is good to know.

And since the Zacks # 1's are a timeliness indicator (timeliness meaning a # 1 ranked stock is an indicator that it should outperform the market over the next 1-3 months), it's ideal to know when it's a # 1 as soon as possible. (And also when it's no longer a # 1!)

Well, in the Research Wizard software, you can see the current Zacks Rank as well as the previous weeks Zacks Rank. (Going back as many as 5 weeks.)

Why is that important? Simple. It's good to see if a stock is getting better week by week or worse week by week. If it's been a # 1 for a bit, that's great news. But what if you're looking for stocks that have just recently gone from a 5 or a 4 or a 3 or a 2, ... to now a 1. That usually means something big is going on!

And knowing that a major shift is taking place in the minds of the analysts reporting on these companies and their earnings estimates is big-time money-making information.

To see how to display the flow of the Zacks Rank in a report or to screen for changes in the Zacks Rank, just click the Quick Vid's (in the table off to the right) and see how it's done.
